Y'know how disappointment sucks?
So about a week and a half ago, I ordered a new puter online. You may have heard me mention it ad nauseum.
It got here today. The monitor worked. The tower did not.
I spend three hours--yes, three hours--with--you guessed it--someone with an undecipherable Indian accent. We went so far as to crack open the tower and remove and replace the sound card--of course, her directions for how to crack it open took half an hour...
She pretty much exhausted all the troubleshooting procedures, so now I have to repack the puter, and accessories, and send it back to FedEx Monday. Thankfully, it only took half an hour to set up the arrangements for the replacement. It's going to take about 2 weeks to get the replacement--having it sent for repairs would take three.
In the mean time, the puter I gave to #2 son is now back in its place, modem reattached, my wireless boradband device waiting like an expectant adoptee. *sigh*
On the plus side today, Miss Thang One and Miss Thang Two were absent from my last period class. My three noisiest kids were gone, as a matter of fact--amazing how much the kids could get done. And the Tuesday before break, I'm giving quizzes...then it's a five-day weekend. Sweet.
And now, a list...TV series I've never seen a single episode of--in no particular order:
1) Dancing with the Stars
2) Lost
3) Gray's Anatomy
4) Enterprise
5) Friends
6) Two and a Half Men
7) Entourage
8) The Sopranos
9) Boston Legal
10) The Practice
11) Bones
12) Queer Eye for the Straight Guy
13) Walker, Texas Ranger
14) Ugly Betty
15) Mad Men
I'd also mention Stargate, but I don't want
lovellama to disown me. ;-)
