We need a quizling statistician who can go back and tabulate all +'s and -'s ever given. Because we're too lazy to do it ourselves.[livejournal.com profile] chaosvizier

Sounds like a task for someone who likes math! ::looks around shiftily::[livejournal.com profile] lovellama

But who likes math? To whom could we turn in such a dire time? Who would step up and say "I calculate like no other"?[livejournal.com profile] chaosvizier

Nice to be needed. :)

Well, after much painstaking compilation, eyestrain, and insomnia, I've accumulated, with as much accuracy as possible, the +1 and -1 stats, and the quizlings who earned them.

The basic stats:

Since the inception of the quiz, in 2004, there have been
--697 quizlings who have earned a +1 and/or a -1
--694 topics that earned quizlings a +1
--199 topics that have earned quizlings a -1
--108 topics that have earned other various and sundry (and arbitrary) values

The Double-Digit Club, all quizlings with a 10 or more plus-score:
1) [livejournal.com profile] astridsdream 52
2) Why, it's me! 48
3) [livejournal.com profile] thepikey 28
4) [livejournal.com profile] sskipstress 26

The Clean Living Squad: Highest plus-scores without a minus:
[livejournal.com profile] drbear 13
[livejournal.com profile] zihuatanejo 13
[livejournal.com profile] n5iln 12

Lest the mods be spared:
[livejournal.com profile] angledge: -5 (+9, -14)
[livejournal.com profile] chaosvizier: +3, (+9, -6)
[livejournal.com profile] lovellama: -46, (+6, -52--too bad about that webcheating offense)

Spanning the globe to bring you the constant variety of LJDQ +1 topics:

Well, that's all I have for right now, statwise. If you have queries of your own, feel free to ask. If I can swing it, I'll find the answer. If not, well, the breath you used to ask will benefit plants anyway, so it's all good.

Carry/rock on, and be excellent to each other.

Oh no no no no no, kiddo, your scores are quizling scores. the -52 includes a -49 you got from your quizling life. If not for that, you would currently have a +3 or +4 or something like that.

One thing I noticed was that there were a lot of references to things, but since they never got a + or -, I couldn't count them on the list.

I'm currently also trying, off the top of my head, to find topics that were conspicuously absent from the lists of +1s and -1s. For instance, Scrubs, Glee, sports hate, and Justin Bieber are noticeably AWOL, among others.

You need to talk to CV about Enterprise--he's the one who slaps the -1 on Enterprise-quoting quizlings.

Thanks!

+10, because this is awesome.

The one stat that I am curious about: how many times did the Brazilian Women's Beach Volleyball Team make an appearance? ;-)

Heh, kidding. And now that it's all compiled, you can keep on updating every week! How convenient! ;-)
Date: 2010-07-11 09:13 pm (UTC)

From: [identity profile] i-calql8.livejournal.com
The Brazilian women's volleyball team got a total of two +1s, but there were numerous appearances. I should look into it, so to speak. They have been sort of an unofficial mascot.

Personally, call me crazy, I firmly believe the quiz needs more Allyson Hannigan. The quiz's signature redhead, doncha know (aside from our own [livejournal.com profile] lovellama, of course)? I have a feeling Ang would agree with me.

Oh, gawd, updating weekly? Well, I guess it's easier than updating every 6 years, huh?

Are there plans for the Commemorative 100th Geek of the Week Award? It's arriving fairly soon.

This statfest is actually done with expert timing--since there are no quiz results Monday (I'm assuming), this can be the quizlings' LJDQ fix. I love a captive audience. :D

I will take a perverse pride in the fact that I've only been a Quizling for about a year. I shall endeavor to improve my rank by at least one slot by the end of the calendar year.

Of course, I haven't actually answered in a month, so that shit needs to change...

Sting does show up a lot, but we rarely give points for him. Also, he's not as sexy as the Brazilian Women's Beach Volleyball Team. Even Batman isn't that sexy.

You had but to ask, friend:

Batman (goddamn and otherwise): tied for 68th
Batman, the original shark-repelling Bat-spraying, un-get-riddable bombing movie: tied for 215th
Sting: tied for 36th
Kenya: lots of quotage, but as far as bonuses go, tied for 117th. Zoolander got as many +1 ones as Kenya did.

All also have been adventurous and daring enough to reach double digits in both plusses and minuses. Only [livejournal.com profile] captainsblog, [livejournal.com profile] ntlespino, and [Bad username or site: spatial rift @ livejournal.com] can also make that claim.

[livejournal.com profile] sspkipstress's mom also got herself a +5. In a world of 'your mom' derisiveness, this mom rocks.

If SF bonii is what you want, might I suggest Trek, Wars, or even Firefly? Even Hitchhiker's Guide has gotten the quizlings more +1-age.

On the other hand, I would not be averse in the least to seeing Red Dwarf bonii climb up the charts.

Re: Damn that's epic

No, sorry, just the current mods, and those score I have for the mods are for +s and -s they earned as quizlings, not what they doled out.

There have been at least four other guest-mods (myself included), so, in order to keep my sanity, I stuck to just the current tribunal. Given more time, however, I could go back and re-calql8. :)

Looking through the quizling list, I see only two that possibly could have had more than one webcheating infraction.

As for GotW Awards, I am guessing the most probably have gone to [livejournal.com profile] ataralas, who has about 6 or 7. S/He was on a tear for a while, getting a bunch in a short time, in the early days of the quiz.
