In much lighter news...

My Cubbies swept the Pirates, on the road, last night, and they didn't even need extra innings this time. Lieber was again awesome in long middle relief, and Soto has been hitting the crap outta the ball. Now we have the down-but-still-problematic Phillies. Zambrano's been awesome against them lately, so hopefully we can extend our win streak to 6 tonight! Go Cubs!

Why I hate sports trivia: I just found out that the last time the Cubs won two back-to-back extra-inning road games was back in about 1927. I mean, honestly, who keeps track of this crap?

I have come to the conclusion that, after reading numerous blogs, forums, etc. on the intarwebs, that "I'll be in my bunk" is the new "I'd hit that".

Got a new cribbage board, and broke it in by trouncing #2 son, two games to one. He loves to talk smack when he plays--got no idea where he gets that trait from *whistling innocently*

I'm slowly catching up on Battlestar Galactica from the beginning. The story is pretty good, but it's really hard for me to find a likeable character so far. Plus, I've had a thing for Mary McDonnell since 'Sneakers'.

Been ages for me, too.

Or River Phoenix saying "I'd like to pursue a meaningful relationship"..after inhaling helium, lol.

Love the James Earl Jones cameo at the end, too.

I still have a guycrush on Robert Redford, who seems to be eroding aging nicely in this movie.

"Say...'passport'...for me." Of course, Mary McDonnell could look in my eyes, and I'd give her my car keys and wallet without a second thought.

I'll be in my bunk. ;)

How anyone could not have a crust on Redford in this movie is completely insane to me. :)

And Sidney Poitier! I mean really, who knew he had such fabulous comedic timing??

Agreed. I like this ensemble cast--even Dan Aykroyd, who did his best impersonation of plywood in this movie, it seems.

I like Sneakers too!

"I'll be in my bunk" is more "I'm going to go jack off thinking about hitting that." :D Are you a Firefly fan?

"I'll be in my bunk" is from Firefly, the short-lived but excellent sci-fi series that was shown on the Sci-Fi Channel for a few milliseconds.

It's available through Netflix, so your local video purveyors should have it too. I recommend watching it for the mind-melting dialogue, scenery and writing.

Here's a mini-wiki about it.

And don't forget about the movie "Serenity." Which is actually playing at a local theater in a Midnight Madness type thing this weekend, so I'm making a friend go see it.

Firefly was also on Fox before going to SciFi, if memory serves.

And, no, I haven't seen it at all. Is it worth it?

If you ladies give me enough reason to, I may just buy the series and see it on my puter.

OMG is it worth it? HELLS YEAH!! I, much to my throat throttling annoyance, did not give it enough of a chance. But a least that way I saw it when it cam out on DVD and in the order it was supposed to be shown instead of the way the Bastage Executives at Fox decided to show them in,

Liek srsly dude.

OK, I got all that out of my system now. Yes, do spend the money/time on Firefly and the movie, Serenity. They are so gorram worth it.
