Just another day
Well, Christmas is here, which means I have another 300 days or so without dealing with Christmas carols. I'll say it again--I WANT NEW F***ING CHRISTMAS CAROLS!!!
My fam got me somewhat okay stuff, the best of which is the first season of House on DVD. I can't quite place who Gregory House reminds me of...
I did get a digital camera, but it is only fitting since my fam totalled my last camera. I guess 'Don't touch it, ever' only has limited meaning.
I did play around with youtube yesterday, and got to replay some old Gong Show clips. The show was so awful it was hilarious, but nothing will ever, ever, top "Gene, Gene, the Dancing Machine". Gawd, that never gets old. The fun of that show was infectious, even if the acts for the most part sucked.
Also got to enjoy Christopher Walken dancing through a hotel in Fatboy Slim's 'Weapon of Choice' video...cool.
I also love watching clips of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and seeing people flame spectacularly. During its heyday I trying religiously to get on the show, because I know I would so kick @$$ on it. Thanks to the randomness of selection, combined with the East Coast bias, I never made it, and it always annoyed me to see these morons burn lifelines on questions I could answer with my brain tied behind my back. What truly amazed me is that some people would make it on the show twice. Twice. I'm busting my @$$ to get a try and these chuckleheads are on their second go-round.
Anyway, if I ever manage to scrape up the scratch to make it to NYC, I still might try out. yeah, like I'll ever get that much money. Kids suck up cash like a Hoover, so kiss that little dream bye-bye.
*end rant
I would love a pepperoni pizza right now. That would hit the spot.
My Cowboys play in about 20 minutes. It's been harder and harder to be a fan over the years. It was bad enough when Landry was unceremoniously dumped as coach. It was another to hire that pyscho nutjob Barry Switzer. And now we have the egocentric TO on our roster. Yippee. Well, if Phil Jackson can rein in that nutjob Dennis Rodman, I suppose Parcells can keep the Ego That Is Lucky To Have a Paying Job in check.
As long as we make playoffs and the Niners and Vikings don't, life is good.
*end rant
Of course, I won't see the game on TV, short of going to a sports bar. In my generosity, I located a 6-hour marathon of Dragonball, a favorite show of one of my sons. Kiss the TV good-bye until 6.
Okay, one thing that doesn't close on Christmas--the casinos. Off to play some blackjack...
