Payday! Finally! First pay of the school year, and I find I am making a whole $21.47 more per check than last year. Oh, the pageantry. I am so gonna pizza my brains out.

I left the Cubs game on the puter with them ahead 4-0, and they lose 13-5??? THIRTEEN RUNS??? To the frikkin' NATIONALS??? Seems the Cubs bullpen decided they were all going to suck on the same day. One reliever gives up a grand slam, another gives up the insurance run, and still another lets the Gnats put 3 more on the board, all while the Cub bats slumber. Good God. The Cubs offense and relievers had damned well better show up tomorrow.

Reason #259 of Why I Hate Teaching: The kid who believes he will be moving/transferred to a different school, and therefore feels the need to let his crappy attitude ruin my class and get in the way of my teaching. Yup, it's Phone Boy, from a few days ago. He's emancipated from his parents (probably because they couldn't stand him, either, but more likely) because he is 18. Yup, 18 and in a sophomore math class. Oh, yeah, he'll pass.

I lost Setanta off my Dish for no apparent reason. *sigh* So long, Aussie footy.

Dude. How could they lose to the Nationals? That's the worst team in all of baseball! They can find new and exciting ways to lose every day -- did the Cubbies feel sorry for the Nats?

Phone Boy better find a new carrier. ;-)

Well, to be honest, the Padres are worse...man, do they suck...

On the other hand, the Nats were going up against our #5 pitcher in the rotation, and the bullpen pulled an en masse crapper. Tomorrow we have Ryan Dempster on the hill, and he's almost unbeatable at Wrigley. Now, if the bats would show up...

Talked to Phone Boy's counselor. Since there is no parent to contact, I can write him up for almost anything without having to contact anyone, and it'll stick. Usually, we have the joy of having to find/contact parents before carrying out most detentions and referrals. Not this time...I love emancipated kids--so much easier to hammer-down on them.
