Well, I stayed up all night playing Peggle Nights, which I d/led for #2 son, so I haven't slept much. I will assume everyone's rending and opening of presents went as planned, with the appropriate surprises and pleasantries. :-)

Spouse is forcing me to watch the 'very special Little House on the Prairie Christmas episode'. Looks like I'll be needing that dose of insulin soon. Get me back my House marathon!

My take was modest, as requested. It seemed to come in pairs this season--2 Animusic DVDs, two Mental Floss t-shirts, and a couple of long-sleeved sweaters. I also got a desk calendar of sick-day excuses.

Casablanca, my favorite movie, and THE greatest movie ever made, is on TV in 5 minutes. More later.

Those T-shirts are great! Which ones did you get?

I already have Pythagoras Math Club, Pavlov, and Gregor Mendel--I got the Binary Club and the 'Square root of -1' shirts. The newer ones, for the most part, aren't as clever as the old school ones. I want the "I'm no rocket surgeon" one.

Btw, the card came yesterday--thanks! *big warm 10-minute hug*

House marathon on USA and Mythbusters marathon on Discovery Channel. I'm so schizo with the remote right now, but loving every minute of it... :D

I wish I could watch Casablanca -- that's the one movie I've seen in every possible format (laserdisc, video, film, television, outdoors, etc. etc.).

I've even seen the pantomime, kabuki, and semaphore versions. Top that, sis. ;-)

Finger puppets!

I ordered this and this shirt for my son's birthday in February. :)

Oh, and just before he started his final exams to graduate high school, I gave him a brain cell, just so he had one! *evil grin*

Happy Merry (a bit belated)!

I was wondering if it would be alright for me to take your Sudoku icon. I saw you using it in a metaquotes thread.

No problem if not; just wanted to ask first.

Thanks either way!

Even better, I'll show you how to make your own--go here (http://dailysudoku.com/sudoku/archive/index.html), the archive for Daily Sudoku. Choose a Classic puzzle from the archive. Save the image of the sudoku, go to Manage Userpics, and you're on your way.

If that doesn't work, then, sure, you can borrow mine. Enjoy!

Thank you for showing me a new Sudoku site! I've been looking at www.websudoku.com and they have some good ones. I only play variety puzzles -- the standard ones are just not enough for me. But I looked at the monster puzzles on the site you just gave me and I think my brain exploded (a good thing!).

Thanks again!

Web Sudoku is awesome. I outgrew sudoku years ago (I was sudoku when it was called Number Place). Buy an issue of Games Magazine or World of Puzzles on any decent newstand...there's your variety puzzles source for the next two months.

Anyway, hope you were at least able to make a good icon. :-)
